I bought my iPad 2 and my Jot Pro about two months ago to replace all my written documents in college. The ability to replace all my notes and store my annotations on the 5-6 scientific papers I read each week was amazing - and well worth it. The stylus worked beautifully, and it most certainly delivered the precision and fluidity promised.
But the dang thing just doesn't want to stay together.
The most irritating thing was the cap on my stylus. I'd screw it on tightly, and put my pro on my magnetic cover, and come back to it after a few hours between classes, with the cap barely on. I'm not sure why, but it seemed like normal movement would loosen the cap over time. A few times I'd actually find the cap on the floor near where I was sitting - but luckily I had noticed that it had fallen off.
Sadly, about a month after I got it, my cap fell off, never to be seen again.
I contacted customer service and was very nicely given a free cap. But this one has had the same problems. About a week ago, it too fell off into oblivion. I didn't care at this point. I figured that I'd just be able to put it into my pocket and be careful about the disc. After a few times of the disc popping off in my pocket, I decided that I'd put the stylus in a little ziploc baggie and store it safely in my backpack. It was a hassle, it wasn't convenient, and it pretty much invalidated my magnetic grip - but it still wrote wonderfully to the point I was ecstatic being able to use it.
Yesterday, while I was writing, the adhesive on my disc wore off, and the bottom layer shifted off-center. Now my poor little stylus can't write! I no longer get the precision I need, and summer term starts tomorrow!
I've really enjoyed your product, I truly have. I've recommended it to friends - not that I had to try hard after I let them test it out. But I keep having problems with it that I feel like I shouldn't be having!
Could I have gotten a bad apple? Could my screw threads on my stylus be off, causing it to loosen over time? Could I have gotten a disc with a poor amount or quality of adhesive?
I'd just like to be able to continue to use your product, it just seems that the product itself is getting in the way - could I get a replacement Jot? I come here because I've seen how well you treat your customers. I hope this will be another good mark on your record.
Heck, I don't even need a Pro, a cheaper Mini would do just fine. I think I'm done with magnetic grips for now :)
Sincerely,
A frustrated, perhaps unlucky, college student.

I have experienced the same awkward story with jot mini...how stupid it is when everything is done so perfect but such irritating cap left unnoticed :( ...very disappointed with the designers of Adonit huh :(
