Click when the cap is screwed on

Hi there,

I got the Jot Pro a few days ago, and I'm absolutely loving it - easily the best stylus I've used.  One suggestion has come to mind though, that could (hopefully) be quite a simple tweak.  At the moment, when you screw the cap on it's only held by friction and I've found that if it's in my pocket, it works loose fairly easily, leaving the disc unprotected.

My suggestion is for a little notch just at the base of the screw-thread in the cap and on the pen, so that as the cap is reaching it's tightest screw point there is a gentle 'click' as the two notches cross and the cap is secured in place.  It then won't be able to work it's way free as the notches will provide the extra resistance to keep it in place.  It also wouldn't be a particularly visible change, so it wouldn't affect the lovely look of the Jot.

Hopefully you get the idea of what I mean, as it's not as easy to describe as I thought it might be without being able to use actions :-)

Love to hear what you'd think about the idea,

Paul

The primary culprit is coarse thread pitch. A fine pitch thread offers more leverage in tightening and greater surface area for friction, allowing you finer control of torque in hand tightening.... However, what the op suggests may be even better... Essentially a variant of the child proof cap on medicine bottles, where you have to apply pressure to disengage matching bosses on cap and barrel.

I wish adonit would do SOMETHING about the caps...they don't stay screwed on.  It's pretty pointless to have a threaded cap when it works itself loose and then off.

You're welcome Paul, I thought you might like to know. We always listen to feedback from our customers (that's how the Jot Mini's clip came about), and we're happy to use good ideas that they give us. :)

Thanks for your suggestion Paul. We're aware that the cap has this weakness, and we're looking into various possible ways of dealing with it. We'll put your suggestion on the list for our engineers to consider, thanks! :)
